What are
Omega-3 fatty acids and what is the importance of
them?
Omega-3 fatty acids are only found in fish. They are very important for all cells in our body, whilst they help building up these cells. Especially the cerebral tissue and the optical cells contain many Omega-3 acids. The two most important Omega-3 fatty acids are EPA (EicosPentae Acid) and DHA (DocosoHexaen Acid). It has been discovered that the Omega-3 acids have beneficial effects on a number of risk factors concerning circulatory diseases. They are effective against the risk factors connected to cardiac diseases, including cholesterol, help our immune system and work against psoriasis, allergic diseases and migraine. Omega-3 acids are furthermore essential for the central nervous system, particularly for the optimal development of the brain and eyes.
We have always got Omega-3 acids through our food, so the body is used to get them. Because our body can't produce the Omega-3 acids itself, it is very important to eat fresh fish or a fish oil product. Today our daily food doesn't contain enough Omega-3 acids, so you should take Omega-3 fish oil!
OMEGA-3 fish oil
The OMEGA-3 fish oil is made out of Tobis fish. Fresh fish is expensive today and the quality is very often bad. New examinations show that the seas contain several contaminated substances. The fish will eat the substances when they swim around in the polluted seas. A cod fish can live for several yeas and will therefore eat more of the contaminated substances than a Tobis fish, because it only lives for about 4 months.
The Tobis fish is very small and is first in the birth chain. This means that it won't stay alive for a long time and it doesn't eat other fish. When the Tobis-fish has been caught it is squeezed and the oil comes out. Then the oil is cleansed and refined. Currently there are made many laboratory tests of the oil, so you can be sure of getting a really high quality.
If you choose to eat fresh fish, the fat fish sorts are recommended because of the higher contents of Omega-3 acids (Salmon, Mackerel and Herring). The Food Government advises to eat 30 grams fish daily. If you take a fish oil product instead, you have to take 1,5 - 3,5 grams Omega-3 fatty acids daily.
Two tea spoonful of OMEGA-3 fish oil daily is 3,3 grams Omega-3 fatty acids in a neutral form. The oil has a neutral taste and smell, still it has got the oil feeling, that cannot be removed because of all the benefits the oil has. OMEGA-3 fish oil is a real fish oil. It does not contain A and D vitamins (like cod liver oils do) It contains a little bit of E vitamins which helps the oil to keep fresh for a longer time. The oil stays fresh for 2 months after opening when stored in a cool place. The product should not be allowed to freeze.
One should not exceed the recommended daily doses of vitamins A and D which are found in many dietary supplements. As OMEGA-3 fish oil does not contain these vitamins but only the antioxidant vitamins C and E and folic acid, there is no danger for over-dosing. Therefore you can continue to take your daily multi-vitamin preparations and use OMEGA-3 fish oil as supplement.
OMEGA-3 fish oil has not any side effects at all, no matter how much you eat of it. It is made of the meat of the fish in stead of the fish liver. It is the cheapest and the best because of its high content of Omega-3 fatty acids.
With OMEGA-3 fish oil you can maintain freedom from:
* cardiac and circulatory diseases
* blood clots
* rheumatism
* skin diseases
